I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Susan came to the shelter with severe mastitis, but she\'s now fully recovered and has turned into quite a beauty. Apparently something in Susan\'s past has caused her to be fearful and shy, but with patience and lots of TLC from her foster family, she\'s started to blossom and reveal a very sweet and playful personality. And those beautiful brown eyes, now full of hope for a happy new life, are guaranteed to melt hearts! Susan walks very well on leash, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and loves playing in water and blowing bubbles with her nose. She\'s gentle and affectionate, adores being brushed and cuddled, and gives the sweetest kisses imaginable. If Susan\'s forever family can provide the time and compassion she needs to become comfortable in her new home, they\'ll be richly rewarded with total devotion from a most deserving and grateful girl. . Heartworm Negative. Adoption Fee $70.00.
Blount County, TN had never had a shelter and utilized a tiny municipal pound that euthanized intakes almost as soon as they came in. The people of Blount County rose up and demanded a real shelter for the County. The new shelter was designed and then seeded with $350,000 from the County. An additional $650,000 was raised from private donations. The partially completed shelter went operational in Nov of 2009. It is scheduled to be completed by mid 2011.
The animals are available Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 6 and Saturday 10 to 2 at the shelter at 233 Currie Ave in Maryville, TN.
