Sophie's Story...
Sophie's owners gave her up due to allergies and lack of time. Sophie has lived with cats in her previous home and gets along well with small animals, and most other dogs! She is a very friendly dog that loves meeting new people and exploring new things! Sophie bonds very quickly to people and is very ready for a new best friend! When Sophie is adopted she will be vaccinated, receive a city license and come with many extras! To meet Sophie you can come to the adoption center during viewing hours or call us at 594-1896 for more information. ~~~~Sophie has been waiting for a new family since May 18, 2007. ~~~~

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Cold Lake Border Collie/Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Akita for sale in Cold Lake, or seeking a Border Collie/Akita dog from a breeder in Cold Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cold Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cold Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Akita breeders who help with Border Collie/Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cold Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
