Cricket - Adoption Pending's Info...
|Breed:||Australian Cattle Dog Mix||Color:||Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - With Black||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less||Sex:||Female|
Hi! My name is Cricket. I'm a happy 3-4 year old affectionate girl who loves to give kisses and cuddle. My foster mom says I'm smart, have tons of personality, spunk and a healthy appetite. I'm house trained, crate trained and can use a doggy door. I also walk very well on a leash. My favorite games are hide-and-seek, tag and if you give me a toy, I'll play by myself. However, I do like to have fun and can be a bit mischievous. Can't find the remote control? I'm lying on it! Can't find your wallet? It's in my crate! Don't worry; I'm not a chewer. I just like to play. I get along nicely with other dogs of all sizes, but not sure whether I like cats or not. I'm not much of a barker and because of my somewhat small size don't need much room. Just don't be deceived by my size. I don't know my own strength and when I give a high five, I give a really good high five! The photos of me don't do me justice. I'm cuter in person and that gives me a better chance to show you how much fun I am.
Rescue Group Info...
New Hope Cattle Dogs' mission is helping discarded, stray and unwanted Australian Cattle Dogs (ACD's) that need a second chance at finding a forever home and providing education and training to the public.
We believe that there is a special place out there for all unwanted and abandoned ACD's. It is our duty to match your lifestyle with the dog's personality for a "perfect" fit. It is important to us to place the dog that is right for you and your family in your home. Therefore, there are strict guidelines and qualifications that all potential adoptive homes must meet before we place a dog in their home.
Before you can meet an adoptable dog, an adoption application (http://www.nhcdarizona.com/forms/adopt.pdf) must be filled out and a home check must be completed. Then an appointment will be made between potential adopter and our foster home to meet the dogs.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with all age appropriate vaccinations, had fecal exam, been dewormed, are microchipped and vet checked. We have recently started doing heartworm tests and starting all our dogs on heartworm preventative. We do not have the funds to do additional screening tests for Erlichia or Valley Fever unless the dog is showing signs of illness. If they are showing signs, we will then screen the dogs for these illnesses and treat appropriately. The adoption fee is $150-$250 (depending on the dog, with most dogs being closer to $200) and that includes all vetting previously mentioned. Please understand that this fee barely covers our medical expenses, shelter fees and does not begin to cover housing and feeding. So if you are able, an additional monetary donation is appreciated. Remember that we are a non-profit rescue group.
(Example Cost Break down for female puppy under one year old: Spay-$120-$165, 3 booster vaccinations (DHPP-C)-$15, Rabies shot-$15, Microchip and Registration of Microchip-$35, deworming medication-$5, fecal exam-$28, brief vet exam-$27: Total cost-$245.00) This example is typical for the majority of dogs we take in. If you add antibiotics (which most of our dogs will require), food, additional screening tests, fees to get the dog out of the shelter and gas to and from appointments, our costs are well over $400 per dog.
We adopt to families all over the world. We only intake dogs from Arizona.
