Logan Foster Home Needed's Story...
Hi! My name is Logan. I am 11-week-old Chihuahua mix pup. My siblings and I were re-homed from a family in Eastern Washington who had too many dogs. I am about 3 months old as of Thanksgiving. My mom is 3/4 Chihuahua and 1/4 Min Pin (my old family still has my mom's mom) and my dad is probably the neighbor's male dog who is Chihuahua and some kind of Terrier mix like Rat Terrier or Jack Russell mix. I am currently 5 lbs. My mom is about 8 lbs and my dad 14 lbs, so I probably won't be very big full grown. I am well socialized with other dogs and people, including children, and I am young enough to socialize with cats. My adoption fee is $250 and includes my basic shots, spay/neuter, rabies shot, de-worming, and microchip. I am currently in foster in Kirkland, WA with my sister Olivia. Please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
I started this rescue in April of 2012 with the goal of trying to get people in my community involved in saving dogs and cats. I work with the Police Department in the tiny Eastern Washington city of Connell to pull every dog out of the makeshift pound, provide it with vet care, and find it an adoptive home.

We also take in abandoned pets or pets that have to be re-homed from other towns and communities in the surrounding region.

We have a small group of part-time, unpaid volunteers both in Eastern Washington and in the Puget Sound area that help with transport, fostering, and other responsibilities to make our adoptions possible.

It is my overall goal to provide this area with a lasting no-kill program so no more dogs or cats need to suffer.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.

Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.

Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.
Our Adoption Process...
Our process begins with an adoption application. Once this is approved, we have a meet and greet. If that goes well, the adoption begins. An adoption contract is signed, an adoption fee paid, and we let the new family take the pet home for a 7-day approval period.

We also take a new family picture as well. If an adopter decides not to keep the pet during the 7-day approval period, the adoption fee is returned when the adopter returns the pet. After this time period is over, we still take the pet back, but the fee is not returned.

We try to microchip all our pets, so that if they are ever in trouble, and get lost or loose, or end up in the shelter, we can make sure that they will be returned to the adopter or to our rescue. We will always take a pet back if needed.

We try to spend time with each adopter to help them understand how to best introduce a new cat or dog into their home, and what to expect. We.are also very mobile and we actively transport dogs to adoptive families all over Washington State. We attend very few adoption events so if you are interested in one of our pets, please email for an adoption application and we can arrange having a volunteer bring the pet to you once you are approved to adopt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Logan Foster Home Needed, a Seattle Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Seattle, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Seattle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Seattle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Seattle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Seattle paves the way for another one to be saved.
