Hi!! Jack here! I'm the best little guy you'll ever meet - guaranteed! I love to ride in the car and I will bark at the door when I have to go potty! I like to take walks and I promise to get you outside in the sunshine to play and walk with me! I'm a very social guy! I came to Suncoast and tested positive for heartworms - the treatment was very painful and I got to spend the past few weeks in a wonderful foster home on cage rest. Now I am all healed and ready to find a home! I am so lucky that the staff here at Suncoast treated me for heartworm. Although it was painful and expensive I am lucky to be alive and well! I would like to remind all of you doggie owners out there to give your dogs monthly heartworm prevention so they don't have to go through the pain I did. It is a quick and easy once-a-month pill that tastes like beef and is really inexpensive! I plan on spending the rest of my long doggie life living the dream - long walks and lots of love!

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
We are open to the public for adoptions (or just come to visit the animals) as follows:
Tuesday - Friday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Adoptions stop @ 4:30 PM)
Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (adoptions stop @ 3:30 PM)
CLOSED SUNDAY AND MONDAY
