Coco's Story...
I know it's hard for me to believe too… How did an adorable little sweetie like me end up in need of a new home? Well believe it or not here I am. I am a tad timid and will need a little time to warm up but it doesn't take me long. I will be a lovely little lap dog as I am very cuddly and affectionate but I will also enjoy walks and getting out as I have an independent streak as well. I am a pretty typical "little dog" as I will growl and be a little snippy at strangers so a home with older kids 12+ will be my preference. I am housebroken and crate trained already. I can share my home with other dogs and cats but I would really rather your world just revolve around me. 2 ½ years old- 7lbs. My adoption fee is $250 and includes; current shots, neuter, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary exam (SE Portland/Milwaukie area) ,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coco, a Portland Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
