Cindy's Story...
Cindy #353 is a five year old short haired black and tan, (approximately 4 lb) Chihuahua who loves to sit with her people. She recently came from a shelter in California and is spayed and current on all of the vaccines. She is afraid of unfamiliar places and people and does not like to be alone. She is sensitive to noises and fast movements. She has a shy temperment. She will sleep in a crate but loves to cuddle in bed. She is becoming more trusting everyday. She loves to sit on your lap and cuddle. She goes potty outside but you have to remember to take her, she does not ask to go out. She is currently being fostered in Roy, in a home with four other dogs and no cats. She does not play with the other dogs nor does she argue with them, she is happy to share a bed with them with no issues. She is a swwet, quiet little girl. She is easy to fall in love with. She would be a wonderful companion for anyone that would like a lap dog. Not sure about kids, I don't think she would like small children because she seems to like a quiet environment. You can contact her foster mom Linda in Roy, WA at lcrocker59@yahoo.com or digsdogs@frontier.com for more information. Her adoption fee is $250.

We do not do same day adoptions unless you are pre-approved. Adoption application with references checked & a home visit are required. We do many special events during the year, so check our calendar on our website: www.chihuahuarescueandreferrals.com

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a group of volunteers that take in unwanted, abandoned or homeless Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. We take care of any Vet needs they may have and evaluate them as to temperament and likes and dislikes. We then match people to dogs and after completing our adoption process we send the dogs to their Forever Homes where they will be loved and valued as a family member.

We operate on donations and always have a need for things like leashes, harnesses, dishes, high quality dog food, beds, blankets and most importantly FOSTER HOMES!

***ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE***

We organized in 2005 and CR&R is registered as a non-profit charitable organization in Washington State & has Federal 501(c)(3) STATUS. We have successfully re-homed over 250 dogs!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cindy, a Clear Lake Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Clear Lake, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Clear Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clear Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clear Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clear Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
