The only thing more beautiful than Willa is her disposition. She is a happy-go-lucky girl who is always ready for adventure and she is incredibly enthusiastic. She loves people and enjoys spending time with her human(s), is very eager to please and she thrives on praise and encouragement. She is very intelligent, and she is sensitive to even the slightest change in tone of voice.

This girl was found as a stray outside of Memphis, TN. Willa has been socialized and temperament tested; she passed with flying colors and she is ready for her own home today. Willa is very intelligent and she loves to learn. She is in excellent health, spayed and up-to-date on her shots.
ABOUT THE BREED: The best thing about a Border Collie is its willingness to learn. They are dogs that love to have a “job”, like helping to pick up the dirty laundry etc. and can be taught to do this. This is not cruel, they have been bred for generations to be working dogs and they enjoy nothing more than helping around the house or garden.
The personality of the Border Collie is not quite as variable as their physical characteristics, but each dog will have his or her own distinctive temperament. As a whole the breed is very gentle and loving, however they are protective and will make excellent watchdogs.
The Border Collie is a watcher. They will watch what the family does, watch what other pets do and particularly watch what their owner does. These dogs seem to be able to learn by observation, which is probably why they are such outstanding dogs. The Collie is a wonderful dog for people. They are exceptionally responsive, and are serious perfectionists, meaning that they will do everything they can to make it right after they have done wrong.

These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption fees never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.
Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherished as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their rehoming, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!
