Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! My name is Mavrick.
5 years ago my husband and I adopted Mavrick from a rescue agency similar to yours, he had been rescued off the streets and was extremely underfed and was showing us signs of abuse. We brought him home, took care of him...he soon became well fed and well loved! Walks, dog parks, obedience tricks (for treats) and lots of snuggles. He and his "brother" were living it up in the doggy dog world!!
Well...then we got pregnant...and their worlds started to change...a little less attention...less activity and more work for mom. And then 2 years later we had our second child...and of course...less and less time/love/energy went towards our dogs. We currently are expecting baby #3!!...and at this point we feel just guilty! We know that another family or couple could give Mavrick more than we can.
I would like to find a loving home for Mavrick...he would have fun with elementary children/teens/college age. A young couple or even an elderly. He is very sweet with kids and always wants to be a part of "the action". However because of this, having two small children...it really adds to the chaos (our biggest struggle right now). He is very smart. He does well on the leash and is completely crate and potty trained. His estimated age is about 7 years old. He has energy when you want him to...and will snuggle you while watching TV. He is fine with other dogs...he does take on the "alpha" role in almost every dog situation. So finding a home without other submissive animals would probably be best. He is vaccinated and neutered. He is however allergic to several vaccines and so we have always had to do a benadryl treatment plan before and after with our vet.
We would love to even have a relationship with Mavrick's "new family" if possible. And would be willing to dog sit while they are away or if they need it at any time. Attached are some pics of him. He is medium sized, german pinscher or min pin mix (we think), he weighs around 22 lbs.
