found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Woohoo! It’s me, Merry, one of the mill girls rescued in CEBR’s Project Mistletoe. You will know when I’m in the room because I stir up trouble and will dance for your attention! Even though I spent my first year or so in a puppy mill, you would never know it. I am outgoing and rambunctious and have the energy and manners of a puppy! I had a little or two of pups and the mill gave me to rescue. CEBR couldn’t understand why a mill would give up a beautiful, petite, sweet girl like myself. At just 2 years old I figured I’d spend lots of years in my life in that awful mill. But it turns out that I have a heart condition called a murmur – who would have thought that would make me a lucky dog? It’s a Grade 3 murmur and the mill couldn’t breed me anymore, so here I am…a blessing in disguise.
But I’ve already forgotten those first 2 years. My life is just starting and I’m approaching it with gusto! I am a teeny little girl with the most perfect wrinkles, and I get this twinkle in my eye whenever I’m about to be naughty. I like to teach my foster bully siblings how to tear up papers, chew on boxes and wood, and generally get into mischief. I even chewed up my foster mom’s tax return. That was my proudest moment! But she can’t be mad at me. I look at her and tilt my head and perk my ears and she forgives me everytime!
While in the mill they neglected my eyes so I have a bit of dry eye that is currently being treated. Hopefully I won’t need drops for the rest of my life, but it could be the case. Only time will tell. They say that we just have to wait and see what the heart murmur will mean for my future – I am full of spunk and sass now and it’s not slowing me done one bit!
I have to be honest and tell you that I am not potty trained. I leave little piddles around the house. So you will have to be patient and work with me over and over again to show me the ropes.
And here’s the kicker, while in my foster home I met my soulmate, Hammy. He was another dog from a puppy mill – we actually have matching tattoos in our ears to show for it. We have taken to each other like peanut butter and jelly and we seem to bring out the best in one another. Since we both had a traumatic background, I find comfort in him and he in I. So, if you want me in your life, you gotta love the Hammy too! Because we go together!
Just wait until you meet me. I will melt your heart!
