Silas's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Silas's Story...
Being a youngster, I have some learning to do, but I am smart and have already figured out how to “sit” and how to follow a good schedule for housetraining and walk pretty well on my leash. If you give me some toys and chews, I am fine in a crate also. My overall personality is very sweet and affection and I really love attention so I like following people around the house and seeing if I can be part of what’s going on. I play well with my littermate (Ivy) and do fine with the cats I know. Right now, I do bark a little when I am not sure what is happening, but just call my “bluff” and reassure me, and I wag my tail and head for your lap! My estimated adult weight is about 15 lbs. My edob is 06/12.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Silas, a Houston Chihuahua/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
