Gil's Story...
Gil is a two year old maltese/poodle mix. He is about 12lbs and he has lots of energy. He has the long body of a maltese, but more of a poodle face and curly hair. He found himself as a stray at a high kill shelter. He was so matted that he could not move his hind legs. He has been shaved and looks kind of funny now, but his hair will grow back in and he will be a very pretty little guy. He has a happy personality and would love to have his own family. He is good with other dogs, but not good with cats. He likes to chase them! It is unknown how he is with children. He is neutered, current on all vaccines including rabies and is microchipped. If you would like Gil to be a part of your household, then please contact St. Martin’s Animal Rescue at stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com or 503-857-5047.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gil, a Sheridan Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Sheridan, or seeking a Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Sheridan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sheridan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sheridan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sheridan paves the way for another one to be saved.
