Boots's Story...

This is Boots. Her elderly owner could no longer take care of her so the ladies daughter took Boots to the vet to be euthanized. She is safe this morning but needs a foster home. Boots is a beautiful 7 year old mackerel tabby, up to date on all of her vaccines, and was given a thorough check up by the vet. Adoptions available to good homes in the South Charlotte and Waxhaw areas. Visit to submit an application agreement. S.O.S. Feline Rescue Inc. is a non-profit animal rescue organization that runs on donations only. All proceeds go to provide veterinary care, food, and litter for the animals we have rescued. We do not receive any revenue for adoption of a cat. If you do not want to adopt, please considering donating to SOS or sponsoring a cat on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boots, a Monroe Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
