Maya's Story...
Meet Maya...she lived in a colony and was very feral and injured when we rescued her but she is now ready for a home. Maya is an extremely lovable little girl who often seems to be trying to catch up on all the love she missed out on as a feral kitty. She loves attention and will follow down behind you and sleep in the bed to be near you.

Marlie is a precious little girl who loves to play. She's independent enough that she'll keep herself occupied playing with her toys or other cats/kittens, yet loving enough to sleep with you at night & curl up on your lap. She was rescued when she was about one week old and is now almost 3 months old. Maya has been somewhat of a mom to Marlie and they often play and sleep together

S.O.S. Feline Rescue Inc. is a non-profit animal rescue organization that runs on donations only. All proceeds go to provide veterinary care, food, and litter for the animals we have rescued. We do not receive any revenue for adoption of a cat. If you do not want to adopt, please considering donating to SOS or sponsoring a cat on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Waxhaw Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Waxhaw, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Waxhaw.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waxhaw already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waxhaw breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waxhaw paves the way for another one to be saved.
