Stella's Story...

I listen best to basic commands. I will let you lead me and I will follow right beside of you. I love to play!! Balls are my favorite!! I love being outside when the weather is good so I am the great outdoorsy partner. (Hiking, camping, beach, and more) I like to roll around in the grass and get a big belly rub. I am a big lap dog and like to get as much love as I can get! When you first meet me, fair warning, I've got beautiful sparkling icy blue eyes you will just fall in love with me at first sight! On Christmas morning wouldn't you love to wake up with sparkling icy blue eyes  next to you? I have a sponsored reduce adoption fee to $50.00 to help make my forever home dream true. I am best with a family with older kids and no cats. I am okay with other dogs!

Mission: As an organization, the Merit Pit Bull Foundation will:
§ Facilitate the rescue and permanent placement of pit bull type dogs whom, were abandoned, neglected, abused and/or surrendered within NC.
§ Promote pit bull type dog education to the public, media, lawmakers, and others
§ Promote and teach responsible dog ownership.

§ Bring communities together to strengthen the responsible dog owner's rights.
§ Oppose BSL (Breed Specific Legislation)in all forms. We will, also, actively oppose any legislation either currently on the books or in the form of a bill that we feel is unfair and/or impedes on the rights of responsible dog owners.
§ Support and to help enact more legislative penalties against animal cruelty, neglect, abandonment, and irresponsible actions.
§ Work in conjunction with other rescue groups to promote the values of our organization. While we promote our vision for all breeds, we specifically support pit bull and pit bull "type" breeds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Greensboro American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
