Maggie's Story...
Introducing Maggie! She is about 6 months old and about 40 pounds as of December 29th 2012. We think she will be a medium size dog. Although her breed is not for certain and a total guess, one thing is for sure.... she looks like a black lab and is cute! cute! cute, and a total sweetheart! Maggie has the typical puppy energy energy that labs of her age has. The foster mom has done a fabulous job training her to be a good dog in a home.

Maggie is VERY smart! She is house trained, and she would be a great walking, running, hunting or AGILITY and DOCK DIVING partner:) Maggie would excel at any job given to her. Maggie has great energy and drive during training, but knows how to settle down and have great house manners. She is able to pick up new training skills, after just a few tries. Maggie knows...sit, down, leave it, drop it, come and is working on a fantastic heel. Maggie is also 100% crate trained! she has no problem sleeping in her crate all night with the door open. She also knows the command "crate" and will run to get into her crate. Maggie is also house trained! Maggie would do best with a 6 ft fence or no fence at all because left unsupervised and bored she can jump a 4 ft fence. She is fabulous with other dogs and children, but we don't know about kitties.

Maggie is being fostered in North Aurora. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. If your interested in this fantastic dog... Please fill out on-line application can be found at This is one very sweet pooch you will want to meet.

Maggie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern Illinois. Looking at her adorable face and seeing her personality, it's hard to imagine how such a wonderful dog could end up alone and unwanted on death row. Lucky for her, we saw her face, knew her loving potential and saved her so she could meet a wonderful family deserving of her love. She would be the perfect pet to add to any family.

Do you think that Maggie would be a good match for your family? If you'd like to meet her, please go to to complete the on-line adoption application located under the "adoptions" tab. If your application is approved, you would then be directed to schedule an appointment withe the foster mom in Oswego. All members of the family must be present in order to adopt. Please be patient with the process. Angels On Wheels Animal rescue is an all volunteer rescue with jobs and families trying to save some lives. It can take a few days to process applications. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

The adoption fee of $250 includes the spaying which is now done, microchipped, Rabies Vaccinated, Bordetella Vaccination, up to date on routine vaccinations for Distemper-Adenovirus-Parainfluenza-Parvo, dewormed with panacur, treated with Revolution or Front-Line Plus, along with any other medical needed. You will also receive a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Wheaton Animal Hospital, Woodridge Animal Hospital, or Midwest Animal Hospital in Orland Park a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Naperville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
