Meet Humphrey! His story started a bit sad, but we are working on a happy ending. He was found tied up to a fire hydrant in the pouring rain, in stress and whelping in pain. No one even stopped to help him, they simply drove off until a Good Samaritan came by and took him in. She says his beautiful amber eyes and tender demeanor made it all worthwhile.
A neighbor said she had seen him get attacked by another dog while tied to the hydrant! But the Good Samaritan took him to the vet and he has now been treated and all his wounds are healing. The most unbelievable thing is, he still gets along great with other dogs! He also ADORES people, offering sweet kissed whenever he can. Humphrey gets along with everyone and is such a forgiving and kind and gentle soul.
Humphrey is less than 2 years old! He is an absolute sweetheart with no signs of aggression towards other dogs or people or even cats! Yes, he even likes kitties! You can even take his food away while he is eating. He is just happy to be loved and taken care of. He is very good on walks and will stay right at your side. He has been doing great with housetraining in his foster home, and is very well behaved. He hasn’t barked once since being at his foster's an also knows the following commands: “sit” “no” and “get down”. This is one very smart as well as extremely handsome pup! Perhaps his favorite thing is snuggling up in his big dog bed. Humphrey is nothing but pure love.
He is neutered and healthy, friendly and fun! All he needs now is a happy forever home. Humphrey deserves a second chance at life in a wonderful home that truly cares about him and will love him so much. He has endless devotion, friendship and love to give in return and will make a lucky family very happy. Please contact katyalidsky@gmail.com and eliza_day@hotmail.com if you have any questions or would like to meet Humphrey! Homecheck and adoption fee will apply.

"Science may never comprehend the full extent of what dogs know about language, problem solving, the past, the future, God, time or philosophy. In the end, we must content ourselves with the fact that dogs know enough to be dogs -which is all that is really required of them." - Dr. Stanley Coren
Regardless of where a dog comes from, The Penny Foundation believes all dogs are worth saving, their "issues" are trainable, and people really can learn new tricks.
