I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.
Opie is a delightful little shih tzu boy who was rescued from a neglectful situation. He weighs 9.8 pounds, and the vet estimates that he is 2 years old. He was covered with mats and sores and had to be cut pretty short, but his hair is beginning to grow out and show how beautiful he is. He is soft and silky. You may notice in his pictures that one of his eyes looks odd, but there is nothing wrong. He has one brown eye, and his other eye has blue pigmentation around the brown. It’s very unusual but actually quite striking, and it doesn’t interfere with his vision at all. Opie has been neutered, had all his immunizations brought up to date, tested negative for heartworms and started on preventative. He is now ready for his new home. Opie has a wonderful, friendly disposition and loves to snuggle and play with both two and four legged friends. He has been with other dogs all his life and would probably make a good fur sibling, but he’d do well as an “only” dog, also, so long as there was a human home at least part of the day. He will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 10 or with a dog weighing more than 25 pounds. Opie’s adoption donation is $175, and he is being fostered in Birmingham, Alabama. We do approve out of state adoptions, but the adopter must be willing to drive to the foster home to “fetch” the new family member. We do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, the first step is to submit an APPLICATION
We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.
