My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bio Update 12-3-2012: Otis is doing well in his foster home. He will be going to the vet today to have the stitches removed from his eye, and get a clean bill of health. He's getting used to living with a family, but will need some time to learn that humans can be trusted. Otis is learning to be housebroken, and catching on pretty quickly. He's a sweet little guy and will make someone a wonderful little friend in no time. He's become curious about the cats in his home and gets a little feisty and playful around them! Otis still has a great deal of medical bills that aren't covered, so if you are able to contribute to Otis, we would greatly appreciate it.

Initial Bio 11-25-2012: Otis is a 5 pound, 7.5 year old Yorkie that was rescued from life in a puppy mill just one week ago. He came with a good number of his teeth still intact, luckily, and has had a dental to clean away terrible tartar and remove the really bad teeth. Otis is very lovable, and will be looking for his perfect forever home once he has spent some time with his foster family & learned how wonderful life will be now. Otis had a very severe injury to his eye. He had a melting corneal ulcer, and his eyeball was likely perforated. After consulting with two veterinarians and a specialist in ophthalmology, it was decided that the best thing for Otis was to remove the eye. It was severely infected and all were worried about the infection spreading. He has done amazingly well in the few days since the surgery. He was in pain before, and feels so much better now! Please follow Otis’s journey here, and please consider donating to his medical expenses. Thank you!!
