Honda - Sweet Girl!'s Story...
Honda is not in the Closer to Home Animal Advocates program. We are listing her as a courtesy to her owner and we will help screen applications.

Honda is an 8-year-old spayed female Alaskan Malamute. She has been with her owner since she was a puppy but personal circumstances require that a new home is located for this lovely girl. Honda is housetrained, crate trained, good with children (was living with two small kids), good with all people. She can be dominant with other dogs and is not good with cats (she is more interested in people than other pets) so might do best as an only dog. She is a little bit overweight but some nice daily walks will help her get back to her beauty queen self! She also has had some training and knows basic commands, is good on a leash and good in a car. Her owner said this about Honda:

"Honda is a sweet and loving dog. She needs a home that will give her a lot of attention. She does not need someone who is going to lock her up in a cage or a dog run and give her little attention. She would make a wonderful companion dog, she just needs to be loved. She has no major issues other than she needs attention. If left alone too long she will try to escape and will howl. She does not do these things non-stop, she just has her moments. I find the more attention she gets the better she is. She is not mean or aggressive, she likes everyone."

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out and submit our online application. Vet and personal references will be checked and a home visit is required. Also, a minimum 5' high fenced yard is required to adopt any of our dogs and invisible fences are NOT acceptable.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested and on monthly heartworm preventative year-round.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Honda - Sweet Girl!, a Belleville Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Belleville, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Belleville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Belleville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Belleville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Belleville paves the way for another one to be saved.
