Our Adoption Process...
We have companion animals we would like to see adopted to a responsible owner, but our first consideration is for the welfare of the animal. There are several things that you must consider and agree to before adopting an animal:
I.D & AGE - Your photo I.D. (valid driver's license, state or federally issued I.D.) will be photo-copied onto your application.
Proof of your current address will also be required. A person adopting an animal must be 18 years of age or older or have a parent or legal guardian present to sign adoption forms.
RENTAL & DEED RESTRICTED PROPERTIES - Properties with association/landlord rules regarding pets will require prior approval from property management before an adoption may be approved.
NUMBERS OF ANIMALS - Normally, we do not adopt more than two dogs or two cats during any 12-month period to the same person/family. Requests for exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Director of Animal Services.
CASH, CHECKS, CREDIT CARDS - We accept cash, personal checks up to $150 on local banks, and major credit cards or bank debit cards with VISA, MasterCard, Discover emblems.
COMPLIANCE - Adoption of an animal is made with the understanding that an employee of Animal Services or a designated representative may visit you to check for compliance with our adoption policies you have agreed to on a future date.
PET OWNER EDUCATION PROGRAM - in order to adopt an animal, the prospective owner shall be required to participate in an educational program and to demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter.
Many of our animals come from unknown medical backgrounds. Therefore, Animal Services does not make any guarantees as to the health, temperament, or ultimate size of any animal.
Please understand that we deal with unwanted and discarded animals. The adoption procedure may seem time consuming, but we wish to maximize the animal's chance for a successful adoption. Some pets may not be appropriate for families with children, or to be kept as an outdoor animal. Adopting a companion animal is a major consideration and responsible pet ownership demands a considerable commitment.
We invite you to look over our selection of animals. You must personally visit the shelter to submit an adoption application for approval, sign the adoption contract, and pay fees of:
Dogs $65.00
Senior Citizen (+62 Years) Adoption Fee: Dogs $25.00
