Nola's Info...
| Breed: | Boxer/American Bulldog Mix | Color: | Brindle - With White | Age: | Puppy |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
Talk about personality! If you want a wonderful, devoted girl.. Nola is for you! She is a smart cookie with expressions that melt your heart!
We call Nola a "bully breed mix". She isn't just one thing.. we see American Bulldog.. Boxer (the coloring), maybe even some pit. Oh..and defiintely part kangaroo!!! (we are kidding but boy can she jump!) And she is on the small side at only 35 lbs.
She loves all people.. male, female, kids, etc. She is very friendly and affectionate. She's always at your side though being only 9 months old, if she is quiet.. go look for her.. she's getting in trouble! She knows how to open her crate door, wooden pocket doors and push open regular doors. She has the nose of a beagle (no..there is no beagle in her) and is very food motivated. Which means...... she is very easy to train! In her foster home, she has learned how to sit, lay-down and roll-over. If you wanted to..she would make a GREAT agility dog (even just for fun). Or a trick dog!
She loves car rides. She starts off jumping all around but in no time, she'll sit in the passenger seat and look out the window like a true travel companion. Then she'll just roll up and go to sleep.
Nola is fine with cats though she does try to eat their food before they get it! Bad Girl! and she enjoys poking her nose around the kitty litter! Yuck!
Because Nola loves to play like a boxer, she has a tendency to anger the little chihuahua's she is living with. This doesn't mean she is bad with little dogs (she's living with 6 little dogs right now..her big BFF got adopted); they just don't enjoy playing with her since they're not the playful type. And when they do get mad at her, she thinks it's funny and tries to play with them more by pawing at them. So, we would like to say...she prefers or would do better with the bigger dogs.
Nola is a puppy and a very smart bully breed. Bully breeds require a stable environment and mental stimulation. They can be stubborn and will try to get away with what you let them get away with. Nola does not necessarily need another dog to play with but a playmate does help with wearing her out physically. Her perfect home would be willing to do more training with her. She would be the star of any class and also enjoys at-home training as well. She is not a dog you take home and then do absolutely nothing with. She'll end up being destructive if she is bored (like many dogs are when bored). But when trained, they are the absolute BEST dogs ever!! And VERY devoted.
By the way, Nola CAN and DOES jump a 4 ft chain link fence! She does it just to smell what is on the other side. Because of this, we have worked hard on her "recall" skills and therefore, she comes when called (she is treated every time) and has never run away. She knows and does jump back over the fence to come back in the house. Because of this, however, she does need to be watched when outside even with a fenced yard.
Oh..and Nola is fully crate-trained and house-trained. She paws at the door to go out. You could easily teach her to ring a bell as well.

If you are interested in adopting, please take the first step and complete an Adoption Application located at: http://www.dogsunlimitedrescue.org/Adopt.html
The submission of a completed Application is not a guarantee to adopting the pet and that all applications are processed thoroughly and if approved a home visit/”meet and greet” will be scheduled. If home check is approved and "meet and greet" with all pets involved goes well the Adoption Committee will decide final approval based on all applications received as to which one is the very best fit for the individual dog/cat.
Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are “furever” happy!
All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

Rescue Group Info...
Dogs Unlimited Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer non-profit 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to educating the public and saving abused and neglected animals from an uncertain fate. Our organization rescues animals from high kill shelters, abuse or neglect cases, owner surrenders, and the breeding parents in Ohio puppy mills that would otherwise be inhumanely disposed of. We improved their lives by providing quality care and placement into permanent loving homes. We will continue to educate, rescue, rehabilitate and encourage the adoption of pets from shelters and rescue groups.
Gina Lutes-Finley

Dogs Unlimited Rescue
Our rescue animals are fostered in approved homes. these homes and fosters are carefully chosen and qualified on a case by case basis. We conduct adoption events at Pet People in Woodmere and Hudson, OH as well as combine fundraisers with adoption events to promote Rescue efforts and recruit volunteers and donors.
Our adoption fees range from $50 to $300. Dogs Unlimited Rescue requires an adoption application to be filled out by the potential adopter, which requires 2 personal references and a vet reference. After the potential adopter is approved to adopt, the adopter is required to fill out an adoption agreement at the time of the adoption which clearly states all requirements and agreements between the adopter and DogsUnlimited Rescue.
(Please be advised we do not ship our dogs; we do not adopt our unaltered pups out-of-state; and we do not have a physical shelter - all our dogs are cared for in loving foster homes)
We serve the following counties: Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Summit, Stark, Loraine, Portage and Medina.
