Jimbo's Info...
| Breed: | American Staffordshire Terrier Mix | Color: | Black - With White | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Male |
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with kids.
Jimbo is a playful, fun-loving boy who wants to be a part of everything you do…he can’t get enough quality time with you! He aims to please. He wants to make you happy and feels bad when he disappoints (which is not very often). Jimbo loves every person he’s ever met and absolutely LIGHTS UP when kids are around!! He will make a wonderful family companion.
Jimbo can be very insecure in new environments and fearful of other dominant dogs (especially other males). Due to his insecurities and issues with certain dogs, Jimbo should be part of an active family familiar with the breed and capable of satisfying his needs. He will do best in a home with larger dogs (female) that do not pose a threat to him. Jimbo is a 50lb American Staffordshire Terrier. He was ‘nanny’ to three kids but not contained well or exercised enough so he kept escaping & getting into trouble. Since with foster (and being neutered), Jimbo has learned what it means to be an integral part of a pack and no longer wants or tries to escape. He is a very joyful dog who really lights up the room with his energy.
Jimbo is fully house & crate trained…he will not go to the bathroom or destroy anything as long as you’re gone. He can sit, lay down and come here and knows his name very well. He is fully up to date on all vetting, neutered and micro-chipped. He gets along great with people and submissive dogs.
Jimbo needs a family with kids old enough to manage him and with medium to large dogs more on the submissive side…if any. He would be a great only dog because he loves 100% of your attention. Can Jimbo come home with you?? If you are interested in him please go to our website at www.forgottendogs.org and fill out an adoption application or email his foster dad at kmiller@therealestatechoice.com. Be sure to specify that you are looking for Jimbo!!! Thanks!

Rescue Group Info...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
We do not have a regular adoption site at this time, but stay tuned to our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ForgottenDogs5) for our upcoming events!
Our adoption fee ranges from $100 to $150. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption if old enough or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
