Muffin's Story...
Muffin is a very sweet girl who loves attention. She is Feline Leuemia positive, which means that she must go to a home without any other cats or with FeLV + cats. She came from the streets and was probably abandoned at a young age. She likes to be pet around the head and back. However she seems to react to hands as if she has been abused. If you move too quickly around her face, or approach her with your hands directly in front of her face she flinches and will sometimes hiss and swat at you. Muffin will definitely blossom in a quiet, kind and patient home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Muffin, a New Bedford Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in New Bedford, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in New Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
