Adoption Policy
receives animals from MCACC East & West Shelters who are on the Euthanasia’s list. These animals have been turned in by their owners who are no longer able to care for their pets or no longer want them as well as animals that are lost or abandoned. We are looking for people who are willing to provide permanent, loving homes for these animals.

Please consider carefully the time and money required to own a pet before you make the decision to adopt. Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment.

All animals that are available for adoption have passed an evaluation based on their known history, health and temperament. Animals remain available for Adoption as long as their good health and behavior continue. There is no time limit for how long an animal may remain in Foster Care.

To provide permanent identification, the Adoptee shall have their adopted pet implanted with a microchip & registered with MCACC. MCACC West Shelter offers $10 microchips once a month. Please check their website for dates & times.
You may go to http://www.maricopa.gov/pets/ to check dates & times for Microchip & Free Rabies Clinic.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Playful Thelma, a NA American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in NA, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in NA.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in NA already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a NA breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in NA paves the way for another one to be saved.
