Ruby's Story...
Hey ya'll! I am Ruby, like the stone! I am red, shiny and beautiful, which is where I got my name. I use to be a mamma, actually I was a mamma all my 6 years. I am so glad that those people gave me up because I am done with that! I want that golden life that everyone keeps talking about. I am happy that these nice folks with AGK took me in because I love people and love other dogs. I am healthy too, (weighing 52 pounds) considering where I came from, which is not saying much. But that won't get me down. No sir. I know there is a great family out there for me that will let me have toys, let me swim and play with other dogs whenever I want. Oh, and I do give you that nudge that makes golden's so famous - like when you won't pet me nudge. So if you are looking for the sweetest, southern golden girl, I am it! Oh, I am suppose to tell you that I am a pure bred golden retriever.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transporter

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Glastonbury Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Glastonbury, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Glastonbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Glastonbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Glastonbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Glastonbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
