***ADOPTION PENDING***

**UPDATE**

If you have already seen our sweet puppy Rudy on the website and read about him in our blogs you will know that he is a very special boy. So, it goes without saying that we are looking for a very special home for him. We are currently awaiting the results of a neurological test to determine whether his negotiation skills will improve with medication or whether they will remain as is for his lifetime. Rudy cannot negotiate slippery or shiny surfaces, and stairs are also challenging. He is now coming up to 5 months old and is a super sweet fellow -- he loves to cuddle, gets along well with other dogs and is generally an outgoing boy. Rudy will not be able to go on mega hikes but he does enjoy playing and running in moderation. The ideal home for Rudy will be on one level and with a supportive and understanding human family. Don't forget he will mature around 80-90 lbs. so helping him up/down steps or into a vehicle may be a challenge for his human family.
Rudy is a special needs dog so please bear this in mind if you are thinking about sending in an application.

__________________________________________________________________________

Rudy is a great little guy. Abandoned to the roads at only 3 months he was
picked up by animal control and taken to a shelter where, as soon as he was able
to settle himself and be on regular food, the shelter called us because he is a
Rottweiler. He spent last Sunday with us in preparation for a full examination
on Monday morning with one of our vets, blood work, stool samples,
x-rays of chest, spine, hips, the works. Rudy has an exceptionally quiet, gentle
character, almost as though his ordeal so early in life has made him wise and
observant beyond his tender months. Yet he can also be spontaneous, playful, and
affectionate. Immediately upon meeting our two mature Rotties his tail was going
and he initiated play. He would lay in our laps and chew on a rawhide, didn’t
mind at all when it was taken away. Typically – he is a Rott after all and
instinct tells him to find his place in the litter (we of course all being part
of the litter) – he would give an occasional little growl if he wasn’t sure why
you moved him from falling off of your lap, or didn’t like being pushed from
behind into the crate at bed time, but readily accepted a strong voice and
wagging finger. Actually, he quite likes being in a crate and slept through the
night as quiet as a mouse, not a single whimper or bark. Rudy has big feet and
sturdy limbs and his smallish eyes will grow to match his head, and we figure he
will at least be of average male size when fully grown. In the right home, he is
going to shine, and that home will be very lucky to have him.
Rudy is not comfortable with hardwood floors, so he will need a home that is not completely hardwood flooring or area rugs covering the hardwood. He is fine on vinyl floors and of course, carpeting.
