Highway's Story...
Highway- I was found after my foster mommy almost hit me on a busy highway. She immediately called CARA and got me to the vet. They can't figure out what kind of dog I am but are guessing a shepherd mix, my foster mommy calls me her alien. I love kids and other dogs and kitties are fun until they scratch then I leave them alone. I am about 11 months old, house and leash trained. I won't be very big under 20-30 pounds I guess! I can't wait to meet my forever my and daddy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Highway, a Prairieville Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Prairieville, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Prairieville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Prairieville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Prairieville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Prairieville paves the way for another one to be saved.
