Bijou's Story...
Bijou has been waiting for a home of her own since last summer. She is the only kitty from her large group of feral kittens who has not been adopted. She is so sweet! She wants to be near people and will cuddle next to you on the couch. Bijou is a petite girl who still has a kitten-like face although she is now 1 year old. She would be a perfect kitty companion for someone who wants a quiet, yet loving kitty. We are sad for her that has been overlooked for so long. She has so much to offer.

Darling Bijou was ready for her close-up when fabulous photographer Rebekah Dietsche visited our center--and she's ready to go home with you! Seriously, this little black cat is so darn sweet she really should be pink! Not even one year old yet (born October 2012), Bijou offers a lifetime of love and kitty kisses to some lucky family. Is it yours? Could it be? Fill out an application, come in, and we'll see!

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please click here to fill out an Adoption Application. Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.

Our adoption center is located at 4600 Knapp NE 49525. Our open adoption hours are every Sunday from 12-2pm. Come on out and meet the love of your life!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bijou, a Grand Rapids Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
