Chester is a 1 year old, male, pitbull mix, who was dropped off as a stray to an animal hospital due to a broken leg. This hospital does not treat stray pets and he was to go off to the city shelter. Even with his leg severely broken and obviously painful, Chester was so sweet and gentle, that the nurses and doctors fell in love with him. They fought to have his femoral fracture fixed and not go to a shelter.
He is now about 2 weeks past his surgery and is doing great in his foster home. His foster home reports that he is incredibly sweet and just wants to be around people and cuddled all the time (as you can see, he thinks he's a lap dog). He is 100% housebroken and has manners all the way around. He doesn't jump on furniture and understands and obeys basic commands. Although the foster family has no other pets, he seems to like other dogs when he goes for walks. We are not sure how is he is with cats since he hasn't had any exposure to them.
Chester needs to be exercise restricted until late January 2013 while his leg heals but other then that he is in perfect health. Before he goes to a permanent home, he will be fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Social Tees Animal Rescue (S.T.A.R.) is a non-profit, strictly no-kill 501c3 organization that takes abandoned animals from the kill shelters and provides them with a safe haven and veterinary care until they are placed in a proper home.
We rescue, rehabilitate and place over 3000 dogs, cats, birds and reptiles per year.
All dogs and cats for adoption are spayed/neutered, tested, vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flead, de-mited, microchipped and more. Plus, discounted vet care for all adopted animals.
We also run a special program for underdogs and undercats. We house feral cats and take on as many amputees, blind, and injured animals as possible before they are euthanized.

To adopt a pet you must fill out an application in person and qualify. There is no application fee, but there is a small adoption fee.
