Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sassie and Peaches are a pair of very beautiful and affectionate purebred female Shar Pei looking for a loving guardian – preferably together. This adorable pair was rescued from a puppy mill run by an 80-year-old couple. Sadly, they had 340 dogs and no staff to help them. You can’t even begin to imagine the condition of the animals in their care. Poor Peaches is only two years old, and has already had multiple litters. When she was rescued, she had basically given up on life … her eyes were glued shut, and she was unresponsive. After three months in loving foster care, Sassie the 28-pound, 15-month-old, black mini-Shar Pei has helped to bring Peaches back to life. The two girls play together and adore each other. Peaches is housebroken and Sassie is still learning. It’s taken three months and a lot of veterinary care, but they are finally healthy, spayed, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, and on heartworm preventative. Their adoption fee of $250 each goes towards the rescued dogs of the Shar Pei Savers Rescue Group. To meet and possibly adopt Sassie, Peaches or both, you can contact their foster mom Jen at peachesash@aol.com or 630-553-7829. They are being fostered in Plano, Illinois.
