Bear's Story...
Meet Bear! As of December 12th he is about 10-11 weeks old, and about 10 pounds. Based on his age and current weight we believe he will be a medium size dog as an adult. He is a bit shy at first but warms up very quickly. He loves to play but really LOVES to cudlle! His favorite place to sleep is in a lap! He is doing very well on his house training, andis being fostered in a home in Oswego around other dogs, children, and kitties. All of who he does very well with. Everyone who meets little Bear just adores him. Bear is being fostered with his sister Oreo.

Bear came from a high kill shelter in Ohio. Looking at his adorable face and seeing his personality, it's hard to imagine how such a wonderful dog could end up alone and unwanted on death row. Lucky for him, we saw his face, knew his loving potential and saved him so he could meet a wonderful family deserving of his love.

If you want to meet this special pup, you will need to go to to complete the on-line application. If your applications is a good match, you would go to the foster mom's home in Oswego to meet him. Please be patient with the process. Angels On Wheels Animal rescue is an all volunteer rescue with jobs and families trying to save some lives. It can take a few days to process applications.

The adoption fee of $300.00 includes the neuter which isn't done yet, but will be paid for by Angels On Wheels if done through one of our participating vets. You will receive a neuter coupon with all the phone numbers of which places this can be done. We have many vets to choose from. His adoption also comes with a microchipped, 1st puppy vaccination for Distemper-Adenovirus-Parainfluenza-Parvo, dewormed with panacur, treated with Revolution or Front-Line Plus, along with any other medical needed. You will also receive a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Wheaton Animal Hospital, or Midwest Animal Hospital in Orland Park a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.

Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Naperville Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
