Candace's Story...
Candace is a chatty 18 month old girl that was recently returned when her owners moved out of state. She would love this time to find a home that will be her forever home, as this change has unsettled her. Before being adopted the last time she was cat and dog friendly, but has returned to us grumpy about being with other cats, though dogs are still alright. With time she is starting to settle in being around cats again, but she needs slow introductions and a little time. Candace loves to sleep the day away in a cozy window seat, and her favorite toy is her scratching post. She is pretty laid back, and is more interested in getting pats then she is in chasing toys, and just wants a quiet home of her own.

All of our cats and kittens have been fostered in a home environment and are litter box trained, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and have been tested for FIV and FeLV prior to being made available for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Candace, a Edmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Edmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Edmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
