Jamie's Story...
Jamie is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. He was bought from a breeder as a puppy and has had one owner for the entire 4 years of his young life. It is with sadness and much heartache that his mom is now looking to find him a new home due to family changes and no fault of the dog's. Jamie weighs approximately 11 lbs.

We are looking to find an adult only home or a home with older children only. Jamie is a sweet boy and will do very well in the right environment but is timid around young children and loud noises. He is needs a quiet, calm home where he can be loved and treated as the little companion but also where he can be further socialized and learn that the world is not such a big scary place.

Here is what his previous mom had to say about Jamie:

Jamie was born 23rd January 2009. He was the only puppy and got a lot of attention from his mom. I adopted him at 7 weeks old and he has been good company. I thought that he would enjoy our grandchildren when they started to arrive but he instead he has been very timid of them and as soon as they started to run around, he decided to hide under my bed until they left. In the picture, where he is sat with the children, I had to place him there, and when picture session was over, he "escaped".

He is not aggressive at all. He just likes it quiet unless it's his own noise when the mail man arrives or someone walks past with a dog. We do have another dog (a Weimaraner) and they are fine together. He likes to play with toys but tends to pull the stuffing out. I give him small rawhide bones for his teeth. He likes to walk on paths but does not like it on sidewalks where there is lots of traffic. He likes to going to the groomer. I clip his nails with no problem and he does not mind his bath.

He loves adults but you have to let him come to you. He will make a great companion in the right environment. We are moving to an in-law suite and the children will be with us a lot of the time and it will not be fair on Jamie to live such a stressful life.

If you think Jamie would be a good addition to your family, please submit an application for consideration.
