Blitz's Story...
Blitz is a male Border Collie/Lab Mix. He is four years old and weighs close to 80 pounds. Blitz came to rescue with Lizzie, his little Beagle Mix friend. His is another sad story that emphasizes how even the most perfect dogs end up in shelters, through no fault of their own. Blitz has encountered a string of bad luck in finding an owner that will commit to him forever. Every time he finds a family, they have to move and cannot take him with them, so he ends up in a shelter, or with another family who takes him in. This time, however, the family that surrendered him wanted to be sure he went to a rescue that would settle for nothing short of finding him a FOREVER family, so he would never again have to suffer through being re-homed. Blitz is difficult to photograph because he wants nothing more than to lean up against you or lay next to you . . . so keeping him away from the camera for his glamor shots was difficult! His most striking feature is his stunning long, black, shimmering coat. It's just gorgeous! Handsome looks aside, it's his personality that will win you over. He is the sweetest boy you will ever meet . . . a real gentle soul of a dog that you cannot help but fall instantly in love with. This guy has NO bad habits at all. He is house and crate trained, will not leave his yard when you are outdoors with him, is one-hundred percent trustworthy with children and is even trained to follow several commands! He is excellent on leash, great about taking baths and loves being brushed, even though his beautiful coat is just about tangle free, despite it's length.

Blitz is fine with other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. He would be thrilled to find a home also willing to take his little friend, Lizzie, but that isn't a requirement. Blitz is such a good boy, he would be the perfect companion for someone who wants to spend time at the dog park or needs a walking buddy. Blitz is neutered, up to date with vaccines, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on flea and heartworm preventative. Won't you consider being the family who finally gives him his forever?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blitz, a Wright City Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Wright City, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Wright City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wright City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wright City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wright City paves the way for another one to be saved.
