Buster's Story...

Buster is an Australian Shepard cross.  He is about a year old, neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Buster is an awesome guy and has blossomed during his time at the shelter.  He was quite shy when he arrived but has learned to trust again and is enjoying his human interaction.  He loves to go for his daily walks with staff and volunteers and he walks very nicely on leash.  He also looks forward to special trips for long walks in the woods and especially enjoys the ride to and from in the car.  He will often curl up beside his driver and enjoy the scenery.

Buster would love a home where he can enjoy the outdoors with his family and then cuddle up beside you after a long day of hiking.  He would love to play fetch with older children in his family.

UPDATE 2/11/13

Buster continues to surprise us every day.  He is a very intelligent dog and simply loves learning new things.  Now that he has settled in, we can see some of his herding instincts coming through.  He will play fetch all day with a tennis ball because he is so focused.  Buster really needs a job!  He would be excellent for outdoor activities and we think he has what it takes to do some Agility or actual herding with further training for the sheep or goat farmer!  Yet, at the end of the day, he loves a warm place beside you and will follow you wherever you go.  Buster is a very special dog looking for a very special owner!  Could it be you???

Buster would like to have his new family all to himself, but may be willing to share his family with another dog who is quiet and calm.  He has started basic obedience training and is eager to please and he would love an opportunity to continue his training with his new family.

Buster successfully completed beginner obedience training with flying colors. Watch the video of him passing his test.

He has recently started intermediate obedience classes and is doing wonderful.
