Bows's Story...
Bows is a strikingly handsome 10 year old, un-neutered German Short Hair. This fellow is very good natured and handles well. He walks on lead ok and is handler attentive. Bows will work for treats or attention and has a charming way of standing on his two back legs to see if you might have a treat for him. He appears to be house trained and exhibits good tracking and retrieval tendencies. Bows isn't too fond of his run at the shelter and has been licking his front paws. This fellow needs some room to roam and an attentive human or two who want to spend some time with him. Bows appears to do well with other dogs; however he needs a home without cats. Bows is now ready to take on a new pack so we'd love to have you stop by the shelter for some one on one time with this great fellow.

If you want to apply for Bows click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bows, a Meridian German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Meridian, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
