Louise's Story...
Louise arrived pregnant and gave birth to two very cute kittens on August 25th, one grey and white and one grey with a few little "dilute": markings. Louise is a fun loving cat that loves to play with the toys and she is a great mom! Louise was born 2010 and once the babies are weaned, she will be spayed so she doesn't find herself pregnant again. The kittens are too young to be seen or reserved yet. At six weeks of age, after they have their first set of shots, they can be reserved with an approved application and a $20 non refundable deposit. Watch for the website for updates.

UPDATE: Louise has been spayed and is ready for a forever home. Louis and Lizzy can be reserved!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louise, a Des Moines American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Des Moines, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Des Moines.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Des Moines already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Des Moines breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Des Moines paves the way for another one to be saved.
