Mozart's Story...
This handsome black kitty is Mozart. He came to Tenth Life in November 2012. Mozart and his brother, Shakespeare, were rescued by police from a very abusive situation. The former owner had repeatedly kicked and thrown both kitties against a wall. They were in very bad shape with multiple injuries when they were taken in by County Animal Control. Luckily for them, County Animal Control spent a month taking care of their physical injuries and Tenth Life has come in to help with any emotional injuries by showing them safety, love and care until they find their forever home. Surprisingly, Mozart has shown no signs of timidness or fear since entering his Foster home. He is a very affectionate and loveable kitty who you would never know had come from an abusive situation based on his personality. He acts very relaxed and social at all adoption events and is always front and center for attention. As a result of the abuse, his lower lip does come down a little more than normal, but he has no issues with it and it doesn’t affect his eating. He appears to potentially have some slight vision or neurological issues from the abuse as well, but he gets around completely normally and requires no special accommodations. Mozart loves playing with his toys and his brother, Shakespeare, and will follow you around “trilling” for attention. He is slightly more playful than his brother and will be the first to pounce on a new toy. Mozart would do best in a home without really young children who might pull on his tail or be rough with him. Mozart would do great in a home with other cats and dogs and is used to both currently in his foster home. Mozart and his brother, Shakespeare, have been through a lot together and seem quite bonded so they need to go to their forever home together. Mozart is a special little sweetheart who has been through a lot and deserves a loving and wonderful forever home. approx DOB May 2012

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mozart, a St. Louis Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
