Ava *FAMILY DOG's Story...
Ava is a fantastic, amazing family dog. We are not sure what her exact breed mix is...she's just an all-American dog. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter in her final hours and has been fostered in a home with lots of other animals and three children. She is very well-rounded and socialized and has great house manners. She is so loving and a big cuddlebug, always wagging her tail. She is a medium-energy girl that enjoys going for rides in the car and walks. She is house-trained and crate-trained.

She does well with most other dogs and has been with lots of other adult dogs and puppies. She does best with other laid-back dogs that don't get right into her face. She does not like cats, so we are looking for a home with no small animals. Ava is also protective of her people in the home and will bark and growl at strangers at the door but she has never attempted to bite anyone. She would make a great alarm system.

Ava is about 50 lbs. and 5 years. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations and spayed. She has been kept on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. If you are interested in this girl, please contact her adoption coordinator at moore1148@hotmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ava *FAMILY DOG, a Southern Hound (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd for sale in Southern, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Southern.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southern already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southern breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southern paves the way for another one to be saved.
