I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
In March of 2006 Sebastian and his sister were brought to our shelter. They were kittens and had lived out the winter on their own, scavenging for food in dumpsters. Fast forward to 2012 and Sebastian, a strikingly handsome boy with a distinctive face, lives in our sunshine rooms with a group of cats we call our “Forget-Me-Nots”. These cats had little or no positive exposure to people before coming to the shelter and therefore require time and patience in order to learn to trust humans.
Sebastian has been in our Socialization Program and has made tremendous progress. He has learned to enjoy the companionship of volunteers and will proudly arch his back to be petted and with gentle coaxing will lift his head for a nice chin rub! He is eager to participate in play with volunteers and other cats. He can be a goofball at times, which has earned him the nickname Gomer Pyle among some of his human fans. Just recently he has found his meow and has offered an occasional purr to his familiar friends. Sebastian will initially be afraid in a forever home, and needs a loving, caring person or family who understand it will take him time to adjust. He has come a long way from the frightened kitten who had to search dumpsters for food, but can only progress so far in a shelter environment. He's ready to leave the nest so he can bond with a special person and blossom in a way only possible in a home of his very own. Watch his YouTube debut! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu5uf93Xc9w
