Marco's Story...
Meet Marco, an 11 month old little boy with plenty of love to share. Rescued from a high kill shelter in Cleveland, Tennessee, Marco is 25 lbs of pure goofball! He loves to play, hike, and fetch a ball. He is curious but, with such a turbulant past in his short life, he gets a little overwhelmed in new situations and reacts with some fear. He gets over it quickly though and, with just a little time and patience, I know he'll gain the confidence he needs to be brave in such a big world! He is smart, very willing to learn and please, and just wants to finally meet his forever family. Marco gets attached to his person and would be happy spending hours curled up in your lap. He really is the sweetest little guy with a very big heart.

Marco is good with other dogs as long as they are not aggressive. It is unknown how he is with cats but I'd recommend any introduction to be slow and careful, under a watchful eye. Most of all Marco just loves being with his person, sharing all the love he has to offer!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Pooches & Purrs Cooperative is a group of rescues and individual rescuers that are working hard to find loving homes for the dogs, cats, kittens and puppies that find their way into our care through no fault of their own. Each individual or group has several wonderful dogs In Tennessee, Alabama or Kentucky looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $450 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our rescues don't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not always possible to meet them prior to their adoption. At times, a dog may be in foster care in New England and their bio will clearly be marked as such. These southern dogs & cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day money back guarantee and the pet can be rehomed appropriately if things don't work out. Each group tries hard to get good matches in your homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date the cooperative has placed over a two thousand dogs and puppies, cats and kittens in loving New England homes! Each group has many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and they can pass along that information for your convenience.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marco, a Brattleboro Dachshund/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Corgi for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Dachshund/Corgi dog from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Corgi breeders who help with Dachshund/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
