Natasha's Story...
This is Natasha. She was an owner surrender cat to a county shelter. Her intake paperwork said "owner died", and apparently none of the family members could find space for this sweet little girl. I have to think that someone who loved their pet would hope a family member would take it in. Unfortunately many times they won't, and these poor animals end up being put to death at a shelter, after they spent their last few days being terrified and not understanding why they are there. You can just see from her face how scared she is. I could not walk away from her. She is no "more deserving" to be saved than a stray cat, who probably never had anyone to love them; they ALL deserve to be rescued. Every day I pull from a shelter is a "Sophie's Choice" moment. I do rescue so one day we CAN save them all. Natasha is 6 years old, spayed and front declawed, ready for adoption. We would love to find her a home for the holidays. Please share her story.

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please click here to fill out an Adoption Application. Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Natasha, a Grand Rapids Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
