Viktor's Story...
Please note that Tiny Paws will be taking a break from adoption processing from December 17, 2012 through January 4, 2013. The holiday season is a very busy time of year with lots of hustle and bustle that can add extra stress to a dog’s transition to a new home. We also would like to give our hardworking volunteers time to enjoy the holiday season with friends and family. Thank you for your understanding.

Viktor’s adoption fee is $375.

Viktor is an adorable little pup. He is roughly 18 pounds, with white curly fur, and tan ears and spots. Although his history is unknown (he was an unclaimed stray), the vet believes him to be a Lhasa Apso mix, about one to 2 years of age. Viktor loves long walks, tug fights, retrieving the ball, chasing other dogs at the dog park, and curling up with his foster family when they watch TV. His favorite toy is a small rubber ball which he loves to chase.

Viktor’s new owner can expect all the behaviors of a well trained dog: obedient, respectful of furniture, and coming when called. Like most dogs, he is wary of strangers and will bark when people come to the door, but he is generally very quiet. He is neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and in good health. He does, however, have a sensitivity to grains, and has had great success with grain-free dog food which is easily accessible in Costco or Loblaw’s. Although he is house trained and able to make it through the night, Viktor does require frequent trips outside during the day. It would therefore not be recommended that he go to a home where he would be alone all day.

Viktor adds joy and laughter to a household. He gets along extremely well with children and other animals in the house, and has never shown one ounce of aggression. He will drop the ball at your feet, retrieve it if you throw it, then toss it to you. When no one plays with him, he amuses himself with his toys, tossing them then chasing them. When excited while chasing the ball or playing tug, he honks like a donkey, which makes everyone laugh. The single, most incredible thing about this dog is his gentleness. He is the most sweet-natured pup on the planet, and will melt anyone’s heart. He truly deserves a family that will appreciate him. Viktor is a wonderful little guy and will thrive in a calm home that will give him firm but caring boundaries, consistent routines and lots of loving.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Viktor, a Toronto Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
