Icee's Story...
Why Choose me?

Icee is a cute Dachshund/Beagle mix. It’s easy to see the Dachshund when you meet him. He has the long body and coloring of a Dachshund. Take him out of his kennel, and the Beagle in him really comes out. Icee loves to keep his nose to the ground. In fact, it was a little difficult getting Icee’s picture because he was too busy sniffing to look up. Then I found the key to Icee’s attention—treats! He loves Pup-peroni treats. I also discovered something else about Icee. He also loves being held. At first, I thought, “He doesn’t mind being held, but he’s not that into it.” Then I put him down, and Icee was jumping on my legs letting me know he wanted to be held some more. That was fine. I enjoyed holding Icee. Come meet Icee today. He has a collar with his name on it, so maybe he will be reclaimed. If not, he’s a fun little dog just waiting to be in your arms.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Icee, a Athens Dachshund/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Beagle for sale in Athens, or seeking a Dachshund/Beagle dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Beagle breeders who help with Dachshund/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
