Sophie's Story...
Sophie is a 1 yr old spayed female lionhead rabbit. She is very curious, and has a big, outgoing personality. She loves to investigate and is not at all intimidated by the two cats she lives with - she does not hesitate to go right up to them and say hello, or boot them out of their sleeping spot so she can steal it. She loves having her face and ears rubbed, and will lie down flat with her eyes closed to make sure you don't stop petting! She likes to sit on the couch to cuddle and visit, and can't get enough of snuggling with fleece blankets. Such a loveable girl who will entertain you for hours with her unique and silly behaviour.

Once spayed, Sophie quickly learned what litter box training was all about, and she is very reliable with her litter box in her enclosure! While out for play/exercise time, she holds it until she is put back in her pen.

Sophie is available for adoption through Grand River All-Breed Animal Rescue! Her adoption fee is $60 and she is spayed. If you are interested in her, please visit our website: You can also reach us by email at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Cambridge Lionhead was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lionhead for sale in Cambridge, or seeking a Lionhead from a breeder in Cambridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cambridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cambridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lionhead breeders who help with Lionhead rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cambridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
