Donner's Story...
Hi there! My name is Donner and I am a 6 year old neutered male that somehow found myself lost and ended up at the shelter. That is where my foster mom came to pick me up. I definitely was a family dog in my prior life because I am a very well-behaved pup! I like to ride in the car and when I do, I lay down on the backseat. Going for walks is one of my favorite things to do! There are so many great things out there to sniff. I promise that I will not pull on the leash when we go for walks and that I will walk right beside you most of the way. When my foster mom leaves to go to work, I can be left with free-roam of the entire house and can be trusted not to get into anything that I shouldn't. Mostly I like to just lay in my doggie bed, or on the couch, while she is gone. It is a good idea though to keep the toilet seat cover down, and the garbage can secured somewhere that I can't get at it. Those things are pretty tempting, and I might just not be able to resist them if given the opportunity! After all, I am a beagle, you know! I tried to tell the folks at AZBR that I am one of Santa's Reindeer, but they aren't buying that story! Here is a little bit more history on my name. . .The name Donner is derived from Germanic words for "thunder". Donner is the English spelling of my name. In German it would be Donder, and in Dutch it would be Dunder. My foster mom says that we are using the English spelling because she is English. I'm ok with that. It really doesn't matter to me. As long as she keeps calling me for dinner, cookies, car rides, and walks, I will come running when I hear the name Donner! ;) I am looking for a family who lives more of a quiet life, but who likes to go out and do things, and who wants to take me along with them when they do. Are you the family for me?!? Let's meet and check each other out sometime soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Donner, a Phoenix Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
