Monique's Story...
We think this little sweetheart is a cross between an apricot poodle and a bichon. She is creamy beige with beautiful shades of apricot throughout, and her hair is soft like cashmere. When Monique arrived at the shelter, poor baby was full of stickers and foxtails, and her hair was so tangled and matted she had to be shaved. So although she is not her usual fluffy self right now, I'm sure she feels much better. And if you know anything about bichons and poodles, you know how soft and beautiful their hair is -- give her a few months and she will be stunning! Monique has long graceful poodle legs, and big beautiful hazel-colored eyes.

Monique is about 18 months old and weighs 10 lbs. She is a bit underweight; the vet said she should weigh about 13-14 lbs. She was very timid and scared at the shelter so I'm guessing she didn't eat much, but she's eating well now. She gets along great with all the dogs and cats in her foster home, rides well in the car, and walks nicely on a leash. She was very shy at first, but is starting to come out of her shell now that she knows she is safe. Monique was obviously neglected by her previous owners and is looking for someone who will give her all the love she deserves -- and she promises to give you even more in return!

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, current on vaccinations, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, ID tag, and puppy kisses from the lucky dog you take home!

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Monique, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form. MONIQUE IS BEING FOSTERED IN ROSEVILLE.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monique, a Fresno Poodle (Miniature)/Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature)/Bichon Frise for sale in Fresno, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature)/Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Fresno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fresno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fresno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature)/Bichon Frise breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature)/Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fresno paves the way for another one to be saved.
