Portia's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Portia's Story...
Portia is one of a group of Great Danes that came from a breeder that has since been shut down. She's shy, especially with men, and needs to be coaxed to eat, but otherwise healthy, happy and friendly. She's currently in a foster home doing well with crate training and housetraining. She's estimated to be 1.5 years old. Her new family should be prepared to spend some extra training time with her.

Suggested donation for Portia: $600. Portia has been spayed and has had her stomach tacked, and is up-to-date with routine shots. Please see the description of medical services provided below.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Portia, a Woodstock Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Woodstock, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Woodstock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Woodstock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Woodstock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Woodstock paves the way for another one to be saved.
