Carl's Story...
This gentle older cat was found wandering around and starving outside. He showed up on the porch of a UCR volunteer who took him inside right away. Carl was skin and bones, and just desperate to eat and sleep. We have had Carl to see the vet and it was determined that he is older than 10 years... so sad a cat this age was homeless.

Carl was rescued on October 26th and over time, he has improved a lot in many ways. His thinned out and wiry fur is growing in thick and soft, and he is eating well and has gained weight. He could still stand to fill in a bit more and he is working on that.

We are also starting to see the real Carl and he is just a sweetheart. He is an independent cat who is very content to have a window to look out of, a soft bed to sleep in, and someone to have a conversation with. Carl is an excellent listener and loves to tell you his stories as well.

Carl's blood and urine were all tested and came back with excellent results, nothing out of the ordinary. He also viral tested negative. Overall, for an older guy, Carl is in great shape!

Carl would be happiest in a quiet home as the only cat. He is a perfect companion and he would love to bond with someone. He is available for adoption or foster care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carl, a Toronto Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
